K.K. Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) Guwahati has invited applications from Indian citizens for the following academic and non-academic posts. The details of recruitment are given below:

Name of the Posts:

1. Associate Professor (Computer Science): 01 Post

2. Academic Consultant (Social Work): 02 Posts

3. Academic Consultant (Mass Communication): 01 Post

4. Academic Consultant (Philosophy): 01 Post

5. Academic Consultant (History): 01 Post

6. Attendant cum Driver (Grade– IV): 01 Post

7. Multi-Tasking Staff (Grade– IV, ST-H): 01 Post

Education Qualification:

1. Associate Professor (Computer Science):

Essential Qualification:

(i) Master degree in Computer Science from a recognized University with 55% marks (or equivalent grade in point-scale where the grading system is followed)

(ii) Good academic record with a PhD degree from a recognized university in the concerned / affiliated / relevant discipline.

(iii) Except for the duration of PhD, at least eight years of teaching experience and / or research in academic / research status equal to the assistant professor in the university, college or recognized research institute. Research with at least five publications as evidence of published work and books and / or research / policy papers.

(iv) Design of academic innovation, new courses and curriculum and technology mediator teaching-learning process along with the evidence of guided doctoral candidates and research students.

(v) The minimum score set in the academic performance indicator (API) based performance based appraisal system (PBS) determined by the UGC.

Desirable qualification:

(i) Degree / Diploma in Distance Education or Work Experience at Distance Learning Institute.

(ii) Adequate knowledge of computer.

(iii) Proficiency in both English and Assamese languages.

2. Academic Consultant (Social Work, Mass Communication, Philosophy & History):

Essential Qualification:

(i) For the purpose of eligibility, with the exemption of marks for scheduled caste / scheduled tribe / differently able candidates according to the UGC guidelines, with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) Good academic records, on a master's degree in relevant subjects from a recognized university.

(ii) Eligibility in the National / State Level Eligibility Test (NET / SLET) conducted for the purpose by UGC or any agency approved by the UGC. However, the candidates, who are awarded with Ph.D. in accordance with the "university grants commission (procedure for minimum standard and PhD degree award) Regulations, 2009 ", the minimum eligibility conditions of NET / SLET will be exempted from the requirement.

Desirable qualification:

(i) Degree / Diploma in Distance Education or Work Experience at Distance Learning Institute.

(ii) Adequate knowledge of computer.

(iii) Proficiency in both English and Assamese languages.

3. Attendant cum Driver:

Essential Qualification:

i) HSLC passed or equivalent.

ii) Valid HMV Driving License.

Desirable qualification:

i) Work experience in the ODL system.

4. Multi-Tasking Staff:

Essential Qualification:

i) HSLC passed or equivalent.

Desirable qualification:

i) Work experience in the ODL system.

Pay Scale:

1. Associate Professor (Computer Science):

Basic Salary (Revised) - 1,31,400 / - (according to UGC Guidelines and Scheduling Formula)

2. Academic Consultant (Social Work, Mass Communication, Philosophy, and History):

Basic Salary- 21,600 / - (fixed)

3. Attendant cum-Driver:

Basic salary - 12,000 / - with grade pay 4,400 (CPC guidelines and fixation formula should be decided accordingly)

4. Multi-tasking Staff:

Basic salary 12,000 / - with grade pay 4,400 (CPC guidelines and fixation formula should be decided accordingly)

Application Fee:

For Associate Professor (Computer Science)- Rs. 1000/-

For other remaining Posts: Rs. 500/-

Age Limits: According to the State Government's Rules / Notification.
